Our Mission
The Wado Academy was founded by Masafumi Shiomitsu so that Wado practitioners would have an organization that is not politically
motivated. The mission of the Wado Academy is to teach the highest level of Wado-Ryu putting correct technique, proper attitude
and loyalty to Budo ethics ahead of finance and political status.

The Academy in America
The Wado Academy was founded in America by Tyrone Pardue, a long time Wado-Ryu student from Ireland where he trained exclusively
with Masafumi Shiomitsu, Yoshihiko Iwasaki, and Tatsuo Suzuki from 1975 to 2003. Tyrone has been practicing Wado-Ryu continuously
for over 30 years and was a successful competitor winning national and international titles in both Kata and Kumite.
